Hello, Holisticaited Familia!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! And that means it’s also time to spend a sh*t ton of money hahaha (kidding…but also not really).
I don’t know about you, but I recently discovered I’m a terrible gift-giver (or at least that’s what my husband thinks…). I think it’s mostly because I procrastinate holiday shopping (especially for others) because to be honest…I don’t enjoy it. I mostly just like shopping for myself or things I like 😅 which is why this holiday gift guide is perfect for you — because it’s basically a list of a bunch of items I would buy for myself or already have bought for myself 😂 Plus, I’m doing all the work for you, so you don’t have to scroll through Amazon’s guides for hours on end trying to figure out wtf to buy your mom, brother, partner, or friend…only to purchase something you’re not even sure about cause you can’t fathom wasting another minute of time searching…
Ahhhhh tis the season! Am I right?! 🎄😂
So, without further adieu, here’s a list of 26 health-related(ish) items that you could totally add to your personal wish list or buy as gifts for someone else!
Tech Items:
Tempdrop: this is a band you wear on your arm that tracks your basal body temperature for you and syncs what it records to your phone (whenever convenient) so you can confirm ovulation! I used to be really consistent with tracking my BBT (to avoid pregnancy naturally) but after having my daughter, Alex, it’s been a challenge to get it done before I get out of bed (to get her and nurse her once she’s awake). I sent this to my mom because they were having a Black Friday sale and my birthday is coming up on the 17th, so she ordered me one hehe YAY! So excited to start using it! 😊
Garmin Smart Watch: I’ve had an Apple watch for a LONG time now and I do like it, but it’s kind of bulky, and out of nowhere I just stopped using it. I like using the iPhone’s Health app to track my steps, record my workouts, and track my menstrual cycles; however, the Garmin watch does all this AND more. It also records your stress levels which is very cool! If your focus is more on fitness and outdoor activities, the Garmin watch may be a better choice for you. Might be worth checking out, hehe.
Self-care Items:
A Massage: I will gladly accept a massage or gift card to my favorite massage spot as a gift anytime! If you haven’t found a massage spot you’re really into and you live in the Miami area, you have to check this place out. They give amazing massages, no fluff, and are very reasonably priced!
Acupuncture Session(s): Acupuncture sessions definitely make the top of my personal wish list. There are so many benefits to it: pain relief, stress relief, improved sleep, improved mood,...It’s an investment for sure, but in my opinion, it’s worth every penny.
Lab Testing: If you’ve been feeling off with your health and haven’t been able to get to the bottom of it, getting some labwork done can be so helpful. When I was struggling with terrible eczema breakouts, I saw a holistic specialist and paid a little more than I typically would to have a full workup done. We tested everything! We looked at hormone levels, tested for nutrient deficiencies, and even got a GI Map test. I gained so much knowledge and clarity afterward and we were able to make a targeted healing plan. If you’re in a similar situation, this could make for a great gift to add to your wishlist! Your primary doctor probably won’t offer it to you though, so you’ll most likely need to reach out to a naturopath or functional medicine doctor.
Personal Care Items:
Primally Pure Lip Balm: The best non-toxic lip balm and the best stocking stuffer ever. Enough said.
Kossma Beauty Skincare Products: I love their serums, especially the Purely Potent Vitamin C Serum and the Tallow Beauty Oil.
Gua Sha Stone: This skin-care tool improves circulation, facilitates lymphatic drainage (reducing toxins), reduces puffines, promotes collagen production, helps relax facial muscles and leaves ya glowing after use! I swear by this thang and use it DAILY. I’ve linked the one I’m personally using right now, but there are so many options out there! I used to have a cheaper rose quartz gua sha from Amazon, but I kept dropping it (and breaking it), so I decided to invest in a more expensive option that wouldn’t break as easily 😂
Red Light Therapy Bulb: I sent this to my brother last year and he bought it for me for Christmas. It’s nothing special (there are so many options on Amazon and fancier ones too, haha), but I use it almost every night when I shower! Why? Red light therapy can enhance cellular function, promotes collagen production, has anti-inflammatory effects, enhances blood circulation, and influences the production of serotonin and melatonin, contributing to improved mood and sleep patterns!
Blue Light Blocking Lenses: Blue light exposure (especially at night) can interfere with the body’s ability to produce melatonin (your sleep hormone). Blue light blocking lenses filter out a portion of blue light, potentially improving sleep quality by preserving the natural sleep-wake cycle. I have some cheap ones off Amazon that I wear on most nights, but I’m honestly not confident in their blue-light blocking ability 😅😬 I really want these ones, but they’re pricey, so for now, they’re on the wishlist!
Subscriptions:
Nuuly: I’ve had a Nuuly subscription for years now and I love it! I pay about $100 per month for 6 (usually very expensive) clothing items. It’s safe to say I get my shopping-fix out with it plus, by renting, I’m acting more sustainably! It’s honestly perfect for events and traveling because you don’t have to spend money on clothing items you most likely won’t ever wear again. It was also great while I was pregnant because I just rented larger clothing or maternity items, and didn’t have to buy anything new. Highly recommend! For $20 OFF your first month, use THIS LINK.
Superhuman: I LOVE THIS MEDITATION APP! The meditations aren’t like your “typical” meditations. There is so much variety and there are so many types available: seated, walking, getting ready, pep talks, cooking,...the list goes on! I also love the way the app looks and feels, so that’s a BIG PLUS.
Thrive Market: I was actually gifted a Thrive Market subscription from a friend and I’ve renewed ever since. I love it! They have so many healthy options (including most of the brands I love) so I usually end up ordering all my pantry items and snacks from their website. For 40% OFF your first order, use THIS LINK.
Fitness Subscription(s): What about an exercise subscription? This makes for a great gift and there are so many to choose from. Maybe you already know what the person you’re buying for likes? A favorite yoga studio? A gym they already go to? I personally subscribe to Melissa Wood Health (mostly Pilates and there’s a 7-day trial) as well as Peloton (you don’t need a bike to subscribe to their classes).
Kitchen Items:
The Beast Health Blender: My daughter, Alex HATES loud noises (the blender, vacuum, and drill all scare her lol). She literally cries EVERY TIME my husband makes a smoothie (which used to be every single morning). Luckily, he’s been making them less often, but I’ve been wanting a quieter one for a while now, so I added this one to my wish list PLUS it’s glass! Yay for non-toxic kitchen items! I hope Santa delivers this year 😂🤣
Berkey Water Filter System: This was my birthday gift from my husband, Darius last year and we love it. It’s pretty, sits on the countertop, and uses advanced filtration technology to remove all the contaminants from your water. A must-have if you ask me!
Fellow Stagg Tea Kettle: In my house, we boil water on the stovetop at least twice a day, but usually, three times. In the morning for my matcha (and his tea), in the afternoon for another tea (usually decaffeinated), and at night for a sleepy-time tea. So, a smart tea kettle like this would be awesome! It’s beautiful, so it would obviously look cute in the kitchen, plus you can control the drinking temperature, and keep the temperature to your liking for a full hour.
Glass Matcha Set: It took me TOO LONG to get something like this for my matcha, but it really does make a difference in the way it tastes when it’s prepared properly (as long as you have good quality matcha too). If you know anyone who drinks matcha without something like this, it’s the perfect gift!
Yeti Tumbler: There are so many Yeti products in our house, it’s insane. I’ve got all the drinkware (with the exception of their water bottle) and any of them would make for a great gift! I drink my teas out of the rambler every day because it’s stainless steel (non-toxic) and because it’s the only thing I’ve found that keeps it hot for a very long time 😅
BKR Glass Water Bottle: My favorite glass water bottle in the whole wide world. It’s big and it’s stylish, so it keeps me drinking water all day!
Le Creuset Cookware: Darius gifted me one of these a few years ago once I really got into cooking and now I want another (but, they’re so expensive). They’re made of highly-durable, chip-resistant enameled cast iron (also non-toxic) and they come in so many beautiful colors and finishes! 😍
The First Mess Cookbook: My favorite plant-based cookbook. All her recipes taste amazing! They’re not necessarily simple, but I feel like I learned so much about flavor thanks to this book!
The Moon Cycle Cookbook: My cousin saw this book somewhere and bought it for me. When she came to visit last month and showed it to me, I pulled mine off the shelf lol she should’ve known I’d already own it…hehe.
The First 40 Days (Recipes & more): This one is perfect for anyone currently pregnant! So many incredible recipes for you to prepare and freeze before giving birth to make sure you’re starting your postpartum period well-nourished!
Other Home Items:
House Shoes: Get yourself a pair of house shoes, so you can take all your other shoes off at the door. The bottom of our shoes are full of toxins that we bring into our homes. If you don’t like to walk around barefoot or in socks, just buy a designated pair of shoes or slippers you wear inside your home only. These ones from Amazon are comfy and cheap!
Non-toxic Candles: We love to set the moody vibes later in the evening to help us wind-down before bed and lighting candles always helps. I actually like going to Home Goods and just looking for any non-toxic options (look for soy, beeswax, or coconut wax candles).
